Just thought I'd start a thread for people to post any early 3d work they've done. Yes, finally a place you can post all those crappy models and scenes you didn't want anyone to see. I thought it might be interesting to see how far people have come.

If you can mention when you made it as well that would be good.

I'll get the ball rolling.
Both of these vids were created mid 2003 for a 3d animation class at Uni. We had to make some city/space scenes for the scouts who were holding their jamoree in Adelaide that year. Not sure if I made the final cut.

Wow, Jamie ... it is really your first thing made in 3ds? How did you made so cool looking grass (I don't see grass as good as yours on the internet...) etc.? Damn, that really looks great.

Raphael. one of the earliest projects i completed. If you saw this things wire frame you would probably throw up.

And on the day the words "flimsy excuse" were re-defined we stood in awe and watched.

ok, but I am not responsible for injury or death which may occur as a result of viewing these wires.

I draw your attention to his neck and head there are some superb examples of what not to do there. also around his feet there are some fine examples of crappy wires.

This was one of my early images done with trueSpace many years ago. It's all I have left from that time.

I believe there was a tutorial to achieve the realistic water effects and lighting. I can't remember, it was at least 12 years ago, and the 90's were a bit of a blur. I do remember extruding the log though smile.gif

I see it now. The mountain represents the misconception of the white middle aged male, often seen as all powerful and unmovable while the cage represents a feeling of being trapped by this age old misrepresentation. Wow, it really speaks to me.

That's a pretty good start. However, as this is just a thread to show work and not really somewhere to get help and advice, could you start a new thread in the Help and Advice section?
