Hey people.

Since i'm new i'll give you some back ground on my experience. I'm studing multimedia and game design at ITT Tech and i've been working in 3Ds for about a year now. I know how to use most of the tools but some things still evade me.

One thing I haven't learned much about is texture mapping. Dont really know anything about it. I know enough about texturing to use some different type materials (smoke, noise, blend, etc) and I can use a bitmap and UV map it but that's about it. I know there is more too mapping textures but I really dont know what i'm looking for exacally.

What can yall tell me about textures and mapping that would prove useful? What are some good tutorial sights?

Texturing is a pretty broad subject it would be much easier to help you if you had a specific problem that you needed to solve. Amazon has got plenty of good books that will help you, I'd suggest getting one or two if you're really keen to learn. Just make sure you read the user reviews so you know which ones are good and which to avoid. As for websites, try a google search. There are a lot of sites out there with good info including 3dbuzz.com and 3d-tutorial.com. You're bound to find something out there. Any specific questions, feel free to ask them here.
