Bucketspade Effects are looking for a talented Storyboard Artist!

The right artist will be working on a feature film project with the possibility of further work with a full time position, depending on your skills in concept development work.

Storyboard Artist:
Storyboard Artists interpret scripts and sketched ideas in order to create storyboards. They work closely with the Director, to visualise and tell the story.

Storyboard Artists illustrate the narrative, plan shots, and create pictures to demonstrate action and maintain continuity between scenes. They may need to revise and update their work to reflect a changing script, idea or comments from the Director, VFX Supervisor or Producer.

Storyboard Artists may be required to prepare the storyboards for production, including indications of dialogue, character performance and camera moves, and could be asked to produce their work either as rough or cleaned up drawings or digital using “StoryViz” software.

Skills / Responsibilities:
Above all else, Storyboard Artists must be able to communicate a good story. You must be able to demonstrate artistic skills including a strong sense of composition and perspective, good use of light, shadow and colour, the ability to create atmosphere and sequential drawing and editing skills. Also need to be able to work either independently or as part of a team. Must be able to take direction, and also be prepared to make changes to your work quickly.

For our projects you will need excellent drawing skills, be a fast learner and the ability to adapt to a wide range of styles. You must be able to follow established designs, ideas and create consistent work. And be willing to learn new software.

Bonus Skills:
- Experience with the software “StoryViz”.
- Conceptual illustration skills in Photoshop or Painter.
- Storyboard film experience.
- Developing the storyboards into animatics.
- Basic Maya knowledge.

Rate:
Will be determined on the individual.
