I'm relatively new to using particle systems.

I'm basically trying to setup particles (lens flares, highlights) dropping into my scene. I've been taught to do this via the video post dialog box.

Everything looks fine updating in the preview box, but when I render it out through the renderer, the lens flares are no longer there, and basically appear to be droopy black drops with little white tails!

Can nyone give me an idea on how to solve this problem?

Cheers

Are you just pressing the render button or are you rendering through videopost? In order to render these effects you have to render using the videopost render dialog.
Click the add scene event button, choose a time range and click ok. Then click image output event choose an avi or an image sequence to save to and then click ok. Then click execute seqeunce. ( I'm assuming you've already got an image filter event in there, if not you'll have to add one for each effect you want.)
