hello
first excuse me for my bad English...

I'm a 3d animation designer and i have collected some other 3ds max artists to make an animation...

but now they tell me to specify their slice of money...
but i don't know how to divide the result money...

for example how much should i pay for animator? 20% 30% or 40% ???
and for sketcher , 3d modeler , texture creator & etc ...

can anyone tell me something about animation companies?
or have anybody any comment???

excuse me for my bad English again...

I'm waiting for your replays ...

It really depends on the job. You'll have to try and figure out how much work will need to be done by each respective artist. So you'll have to think about how much time will need to be spent creating the result that you want. You also might want to think about whether each artist knows what the others are getting, in which case you might have to pay them relatively similar amounts, unless the workload is significantly different for each one.

Figuring out how much to pay someone or how much to charge someone for a job is difficult, so good luck.

When you work as a freelancer you will usually specify your rate like say a grand a week or $50 an hour or something like that. Then if the company can afford you, you get the contract.

Probably the easiest way to do it is with time. Calculate how long each step will take and settle on an hourly rate for all the artists.

If its a project where the artists are expecting to receive a cut from any potential earnings after its release, thats a different matter and you should draw up a contract with everyone just in case.
