These are some models i've done. Nothing real good cause i'm still pretty new to 3DS. Only been working with it on and off for about a year now.

Now this model i've put in about 6 or 7 hours into. The tower seems a bit blocky and I was wondering. What would be the best way to extude a pattern into the side of the tower? I've done it before with splines and boolean objects but that runs me into problems later on if i do it too often. The keyboard is still a work in progress but i've at least got it looking like a keyboard. I'm fairly satisfied with the monitor but I havent decided how to model the mouse yet.

Suggestions?

None of the links are working. I'd love to see your work. Check out my laptop that I did a couple of weeks ago. I did it to practice detaching to different elements and making seams. Try to post your picture in the forum so we can see them.

Just click on the laptop.

Just copy the entire links into your address bar and they'll work. Just a little maxforum bug that varnishedotter is yet to iron out.

Your models look pretty good. You should try and add some good materials and lighting to make the images really stand out. When adding details I generally just model them into the mesh by hand rather than using booleans and stuff like that. Especially if you just want to add vents to the side of your tower I think that would be the best way to go.

Your getting the hang of it. I agree with Steve though, I try not to use boolean. If you use a turbo smooth or mesh smooth on a item that has had boolean cutout, you will usually have unfavorable results. I do like the background on your computer desktop though. There is something familiar about it... Keep up the good work.

I havent worked with mesh modeling much. Everything i've done has either been spline or poly modeling. I have a hard time smoothing things out and cuting out designs into a item. I'm not to good with lighting and textures right now either. I've played with some lighting but i'm not real sure how to use them effectively yet.
